The Feminist Art Journal Founded

The Feminist Art Journal was founded in April 1972 in New York City by art critic Cindy Nemser, along with artists Pat Mainardi and Irene Moss. It was established to expose misogynist discrimination in the arts, advocate for female artists past and present, and build a stable platform for women’s voices.
