Old Wives’ Tales Bookstore Founded

The Old Wives’ Tales Bookstore was founded in 1976 by lesbian couple, Carol Seajay and Paula Wallace, in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores neighborhood.The shop was bankrolled by a $6,000 loan from the Bay Area Feminist Federal Credit Union.
