Catherine Cullen imagines humans on a continuum with the natural world -- its wonders and terrors always near. THE WORLD WHICH IS MADE OF OUR LOVE, an exhibition featuring Giantess Awakening, a Janus-faced carved limestone and Reindeer Mother, a welded steel sculpture hovering at the point of transformation between animal and cosmic worlds, will be on display through November 19th, 2023. She lives on a bird migration flyway in Staten Island, NY.

Jean Foos

Jean Foos is a visual artist whose practice centers on richly painted and patterned surfaces. She gives new life to objects made from discarded packing materials and ceramics. For her installations she favors ad hoc urban settings, such as long-abandoned industrial buildings, military housing, and community gardens. Born in Rochester, New York, in 1953, Foos moved to NYC to attend Cooper Union and lived in the East Village for over 20 years. She first had a studio at 32 Union Square East, and later moved many times to work in Soho, the Bronx and the garment district. At each of her locations she was active in the community of artists and held open studios and exhibitions. Because her studio is currently located at an arts center (Culture Lab LIC) she has become more engaged than ever with the local populace.

Donna Rae Kessinger

Multi-media Artist Donna Rae Kessinger's focus is on projects that foster collaboration between artists and local communities, creating a marriage of art and commerce through intervention, public art project, or gallery exhibition. Kessinger participated in REPOhistory’s, Entering Buttermilk Bottom sign project in 1996. Donna has recorded turn of the century feminist oral herstories including Mary Beth Edelson, Nancy Spero, Janet Henry, Carolee Schneemann and Kate Millett. In 1999 she produced an interview with Kate Millett for DykeTV which screened on MNN. She was part of the Project Involve for Documentary cohort, Independent Feature Project, IFP in 2003. Her video work has been screened at the Jersey City Museum, RedSaw Gallery (Newark NJ), Benjamin J. Dineen III and Dennis C. Hull Gallery, Gardenship Drive-in, Wavelength Pandemic Projects, and venues internationally as part of ARTFEM.TV. Kessinger’s video project Les Biens, is archived at the Rhizome Artbase at the New Museum, and her REPOhistory sign design is part of the NYU Fales Library and Special Collections Archive.
