This is an invitation to the New York Fiber in the 21st Century exhibition. McCannon recalls difficulty in finding people to exhibit her work, as fiber arts and women artists were devalued in the art world. Simone Leigh, another featured artist, had her monumental sculpture presented on the High Line after this show.
