Margaret "Peeky" Mathews-Berenson

Margaret Mathews-Berenson is an independent curator, educator, and advisor specializing in contemporary art and photography. After early professional experience in museum roles at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as in publishing, she established her own advisory and curatorial practice in 1984. Her work has included advising both private and corporate collectors and organizing exhibitions for museums, galleries, and nonprofit institutions across the United States. In addition to her curatorial practice, she has been an active leader in the arts community, serving on the boards of organizations including ArtTable, Artists Space, Dieu Donné Papermill, and the Swiss Institute.
